~The MuNch's 10th Birthday Cake~
The MuNch turned 10 years old and we had to have a special celebration. She loves the store "Libby Lu"- a girly store in our mall that targets the "Tweens" age group with their glittery "potions" of lotions perfumes and makeup, along with clothing and bedroom decor of the same genre. I decided to make an exact replica of the "Libby Lu" gift box as her cake. The entire thing is edible. The handles are made of colorflow and the cake is covered and embellished in fondant. The tissue paper is fondant as well.

Baby Boy's 5th Birthday cake. A replica of a Fire Station...The main "body" of the Station was solid cake in 3 flavors and encased in gingerbread "walls" that I baked in advance, covered in fondant and with a pattern press, created a brick-like appearance. The other detail work was also done in fondant. The station tower was hollow, but also constructed of gingerbread. The windows had LifeSaver candy pieces that were melted and placed within the window to give the look of fire. We placed a small light inside of the tower to light up the LifeSaver pieces and dry ice was placed inside the tower to simulate smoke pouring out of the windows. The little fire truck was also cake...it was Cameron's "slice". |
